It's a brand new day.

Sleep deprived.
I've been having the worst nights of sleep. I don't know what's wrong, but it's not cool! I think it's because I have a lot of things arising these next two weeks. Right now, I'm at the start of my internship. Next week, I'll be starting work. I am just finishing summer classes. I have to make sure everything is lined up so I graduate at the end of fall. I'm looking for "big girl" jobs...
There's just a lot on my mind, so at around 5 in the morning, I woke up from my two hours of sleep and took this photo. I saw the moon and thought it would be a great opportunity to get a picture of it. I guess the moon couldn't sleep either and still wanted to hang out before everyone else was starting their day. Now I'm just being weird. How do you like the photo?

Internship time!

Taken May 22, 2013
20 hours a week.
I'm taking a five credit hour internship this summer to help me graduate a semester early. Woo hoo! So, I went to the town that I will be reporting for to talk to my internship supervisor and take a walk around the area. It was a pretty day. I'm glad it was because this HDR photo came out pretty good, at least to my
standards.
I was just walking around from the bookshop to areas that didn't seem too ghetto or scary to me, and I found this interesting looking pole by a parking lot. This is one of my better edits that I have done. I've learned that it doesn't matter how well you take the photo, but it is also important how you choose to edit the little adjustments. It can really make a photo have a completely different look. What do you think?!

Visiting with a friend.

"Surrealistic" look.
"Saturated" look.
Yay for friend coming home at last! Since I've been home, only one friend from high school has been in the area, and after only being able to see her once, she was back on her feet again, this time back to San Francisco before her senior year of college there starts. Another friend is finally home, hopefully for good, for the summer, so we have seen each other a few times, just catching up.

Since we live in the lovely suburbs, there are manly places to go, but money is usually needed. We try our best to make due and enjoy the surroundings. We went around downtown Arlington Heights for some frozen yogurt, we call it froyo, and just walked and chatted each other's ears off. The weather was questionable. Thankfully it didn't rain on us, but we got to view the water fountain and the fantastic looking sky. I took this picture when we were sitting by the water fountain. I thought the sky looks awesome for an HDR experiment, so I took some photos. I actually did two different versions of the same set because I like both of them. Which do you like better?

I miss it already.

Taken May 3, 2013
New Concord, Ohio.
That's where I go to school. It's a small town, majority college students I feel like, but it's a beautiful place. Not just the campus, but almost every part that I have seen as beauty to it. I have been home for maybe two weeks, and I already want to go back!
This picture was taken at the reservoir a few miles away from campus. I first went here at the end of my freshman year towards the end of the spring semester. It's such a quiet, relaxing place. We went just to enjoy the time away from campus and read, but I was too busy looking and wanting to travel through the woods area.
I believe this is one of my better photos that I have taken. The color is more saturated than what it really looks like, but that's the point. The beauty is enhanced, in what I think a good way. I love the reflection in the lake. I'm proud of myself. This was taken when I was first starting to experiment with HDR, and I am happy with the way it turned out. Leave some feedback and advice!

What a night.

Taken May 21, 2013
Home.
That's where I am when I'm not at school. The color in this photo is pretty much how the sky really looked that night. I was walking home from the store and I just had to run in and grab my camera and take some photos.
The sky that night was so crazy! The clouds were moving pretty fast and were gorgeous. This photo was taken by my back door. There used to be a car dealership right next to my house years ago, but now it's just a huge patch of grass, just chilling.
This is my attempt of a more realistic photo versus the more artsy ones I have been taking. When I'm taking photos, I don't really have in mind how it's going to look once I hop onto my computer and merge the photos together. If the scenery looks interesting, I just take the photos and see what happens.
I'm trying to stick to the more realistic look, but we'll see what happens. I can spend hours on the computer editing photos, sometimes even editing the same set and saving them with different attribute settings. Let me know what you think or if you have any advice!

My weekend in the city.

Taken May 17, 2013
Chicago, Illinois!
That's where I'm from. Well, not quite. I'm from the suburbs, which is close enough when explaining where I'm from. No one knows my suburb; oh well.
I took this photo while I was spending the weekend with my sister at her place. She goes to Columbia in the city, and they hold this event called Manifest every spring, I believe, and basically it's a whole day where students showcase the work they have produced throughout the school year. It was a fantastic event; makes me want to go to grad school.
Anyways, this is a picture that I took when my sister had interpreting work to do and her boyfriend was at a jazz show. I kind of wandered around until I hit my destination of listening to fiction writing. I can't tell you what street I was on. I just know it was a good opportunity because the clouds looked cool and the buildings had interesting color.
This is an example where I focused on having higher saturation. I think I went a little over board on the saturation, but I like the way it turned out. The train looks cool because it was obviously in motion. I like it, but that's just me.
Let me know what you think or if you have any advice!

Boyd Science Center

Taken May 2, 2013
This is from one of the first days of trying to do this sort of photography. I go to school at Muskingum University. It's a gorgeous campus. Especially in the spring, it's a great place to take photos. It may sound silly. but towards the end of the school year, you can see high school students taking photos around the pond and spoon holder before their prom. I think that's pretty unique.
This is the Boyd Science center. The name of the piece in front of the building escapes me, but it looks interesting to say the least. This is more of an unnatural edit of the photo, but I think it looks pretty cool, artsy.
I was having trouble that day because I didn't have a tripod, so I was forced to take multiple tries in order for there to be less ghosts, even though there is an option in Photoshop to remove them. If you have any comments about this photo or general advice, I'd love to hear it!
